Valentina is a dual-qualified psychologist, recognised as a Clinical Psychologist in Italy and a Sports Psychologist in the UK. She has extensive experience across mental health, physical health, and sports psychology, working in diverse settings such as the NHS, private practices, and sports organisations.

With a strong academic background and advanced training in evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Valentina is also pursuing a psychotherapy programme, reflecting her commitment to continuous professional growth.

Valentina has supported individuals with challenges such as bereavement, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, panic attacks, anxiety disorders, performance anxiety, life-altering injuries, low self-esteem, body image issues, exercise addiction, sleep difficulties, and chronic or degenerative medical health conditions. She works with clients in both Italian and English, offering 1:1 sessions, group therapy, and couples therapy. Valentina has experience working with individuals from all walks of life, aged 10 to 70, and brings a deep understanding of neurodiversity, cultural differences, and the needs of the LGBT+ community.

Over the years, Valentina became passionate about using sports, particularly CrossFit, as a tool for transformation. For her, the changes sparked by training were only marginally physical compared to the profound shifts happening internally. CrossFit changed her life, showing her the power of learning, improvement, self-discovery, and becoming part of a supportive community that accepts you as you are. This passion drives her commitment to helping others experience similar growth, proving to themselves that they can change, overcome, adapt, and achieve more than they thought possible.

As a way to complement these experiences and further inform her practice, Valentina holds a qualification as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, which deepens her understanding of the intersection between sports and mental health. She works with athletes and everyday gym-goers to address challenges like performance anxiety, self-doubt, hitting plateaus in improvement, struggles with exercise addiction, and building new healthy routines. Her work supports clients in achieving their goals—not just improving performance but also nurturing well-being, self-efficacy, and confidence that extends far beyond the gym. Valentina is particularly passionate about how movement, especially strength training, can support mental health and trauma recovery. Her understanding of neurophysiological activations during exercise enriches her work, helping clients connect the mind and body.

Valentina works extensively with CrossFit coaches and Boxes, focusing on the pivotal role they play in fostering growth and mental health within their members. She collaborates with coaches to refine their communication and feedback strategies, helping them better understand how their approach can influence motivation, confidence, and overall development. She assists coaches in addressing their own insecurities, refining their teaching styles, and building stronger connections with their athletes. Her work includes exploring how brain activation patterns influence learning and growth, equipping coaches with evidence-based strategies to foster mental wellbeing and community within their classes. Valentina also supports Boxes with members retention and satisfaction, by creating environments that balance challenge with encouragement, and cultivating spaces where individuals feel empowered to thrive both physically and mentally.

Lastly, she provides tailored workshops and development programmes, both in the fitness and the broader psychological wellbeing field, empowering communities and individuals with knowledge and evidence-based tools.

Working with Valentina means embarking on a journey of both self-reflection and actionable steps. Her approach helps uncover the root causes of one’s struggles while simultaneously addressing the symptoms that impact daily life. Through this balance of insight and action, Valentina helps her clients achieve meaningful, lasting change.
